Buy Images

Where images are displayed on Lincs to the Past, it is usually possible to purchase copies online. Where just catalogue entries of documents or printed articles are shown, we can usually provide copies of the originals, but they need to be ordered offline.

How to buy an image - Online

To make buying an image from Lincs to the Past a fast and efficient process, there is the ability to buy an email copy online (or a CD copy in the case of images of large maps), using the Shopping Basket function.

Images will be supplied in the highest resolution possible, without watermarking.

Please note that the county council online payment system is used for this process and users will temporarily be taken to an ‘external’ website. Rest assured this system is secure for transferring card payment details.

Charges are reviewed annually on 1 April and are therefore subject to change.

Prices are set to cover the costs of materials, original digitisation and staff time.

Copies are supplied for personal study and non-commercial use.

Please discuss your requirements with staff if you intend to reproduce an item in a publication. Terms and conditions for Third Party and Legal use are available on this site.

How to buy an image - Offline

Due to the complex nature of copying images and the wide variety of possible orders, we are not able to satisfy all copy requests through the online payment system. Offline copy order forms may be downloaded and printed here. Please see the link below.

Please note that the main website and e-mail is not secure for transferring card payment details. These details should be faxed or posted.

Order forms and charges are reviewed annually on 1 April and are therefore subject to change.

Do not send payment at this stage, as we shall not know the final cost until we have seen how many pieces the item comprises. When we have received your signed order form, we shall process the order and then let you know the total cost. If you opt to pay by credit or debit card, we shall charge your account and despatch your copies straightaway. If you are paying by cheque, we shall await your payment first. If you prefer to set an upper payment limit at the time of placing your order, please advise on your order form and we shall contact you if we calculate the order will cost more before the copies are made.

How much will my order cost?
Unfortunately we cannot provide firm quotations, but only unit charges and guideline estimates. If you have an upper cost limit, please advise us on your order form.

There is a minimum order charge (2017-18) - £3.65 plus postage and VAT)

See the Copying Charges link or Guideline prices: (VAT extra) below:

How long does an order take?
Orders may take up to four weeks to process. Rush orders (up to 5 days) are 100% extra cost.

Which order form do I use?
Use order form LTTP Copy of Images for ordering copies of images that appear on the Lincs to the Past website. For documents and articles that have not been digitised, please use the Archives order form COPY 1. Please see the links below.

Copies are supplied for personal study and non-commercial use.

Please discuss your requirements with staff if you intend to reproduce an item in a publication.

You must send a signed order form to us before we can proceed with the order so that we can comply with copyright law.

Prices are set to cover the costs of materials, scanning, and staff time.

OPEM exhibition at The Collection

28 January - 2 May 2017

Exhibition Opening Times: 10:00am - 4:00pm

OPEM 4 is the fourth biennial open exhibition hosted by The Collection and Usher Gallery, and will showcase the work of local and regional artists who were chosen by a pair of industry experts (writer/curator Elinor Morgan and artist Brian Griffiths) based on the quality and originality of their work. Hundreds of artists from around Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Cambridgeshire and more entered into the competition, hoping to have their work featured centre-stage at a professional art exhibition.

The winning artists are:

• Reece Straw

• Jake Kent

• Stephanie Douet

• Jake Moore

• Selina Mosinski

• Matthew Chesney

• Ellen Brady

• Colette Griffin

This will be the first time some of these artists have exhibited with a professional institution. By winning the competition these artists will each receive money and supplies to fund the creation of an all-new original piece of work for this particular show. Other prizes include a £3000 purchasing/commissioning prize which has been sponsored by the Heslam Trust, while another artist will receive their own solo exhibition in The Usher Gallery.
