Reference Name Ad/Ac

The Administration Accounts form a separate series of probate records, although they were originally filed with the probate inventories and bonds.

Typescript and Manuscript Calendars are available in the Search Room, with the exception of Ad/Ac/9 & /31. A typescript unitary Surname index and a typescript unitary Place-name index, both excluding Ad/Ac/9 & /31, are also available in the Search Room.

Surnames for all except Ad/Ac/9 & /31 are indexed in Spufford, Peter "Index to the Probate accounts of England & Wales" (London: British Record Society vols 112 & 113, 1999). The first volume includes a general introduction to Administration Accounts.
