Description:
Dunholme Lodge airfield was opened in May 1943, and was a base to mainly Lancaster squadrons. It closed in 1945. It was re-opened in 1959, when it was equipped with Bloodhound area defence missiles and their associated radar tracking sets. The remains of the airfield are still visible. {1}{2}
