Notes:Capt. John Hartshorne Cooper - No proper record of this plaque - John Hartshorne Cooper was born in Barton Blount, Derby in 1895. At the time of the 1911 census he was at Agricultural College in Gloucs. He was also at Seafield Pack Engineering College. He had attended Wellington College OTC and enlisted with the Middlesex Regt. Public schools Btn. He was posted on 20/9/14, but discharged from that post on 17/10/14. There is then a gap in the records but he appears to have served with the RFC and subsequently the RAF. He died on 12th May 1921 at the Cottage Hospital, Weybridge Surrey (details of cause unknown) His address at the point of death was in Wyoming U.S. A note in Flight Magazine Feb 22 1923 (p.112) The will of Capt. JOHN HARTSHORNE COOPER (late R.F.C.), age 26, of Culland Hall, Brailsford, Derby, and of Laramie, Wyoming, U.S.A., who was killed in a motor accident at Brooklands, has been proved at £92,372. Probate for part of his estate was not completed until 1938. His brother Richard Francis Cooper was the executor / beneficiary. The Belton connection is not clear.
