Description:600mm x 310mm. Brass plaque with incised black and initial red lettering fixed to the north nave wall. The top section bears the arms of Boston (the semicircular engraved Coat of Arms has three crowns on a shield, surmounted by a horned ram on a pillow and supported by two crowned mermaids) with the motto "per mare at per terram".

Transcription:IN MEMORY OF PRIVATE WILLIAM FREDERICK LENG, OF THE 12TH. COMPANY, IMPERIAL YEOMANRY, WHO GAVE HIS LIFE FOR KING AND COUNTRY, AT GRAAF-REINNET, CAPE COLONY, SOUTH AFRICA, ON THE 23RD. DAY OF JUNE, 1901. THIS TABLET IS ERECTED IN SORROWFUL REMEMBRANCE BY THE INHABITANTS OF BOSTON.
