Description:A rough hewn Celtic cross made of granite. It is mounted on a two-stepped base with an inscription inscribed on an indented section of a plinth. The Celtic cross includes a sword at the centre.

Inscription:FOR ALL TIME/ AND IN PROUD MEMORY/ OF THE MEN OF ELSHAM/ WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES/ FOR THEIR KING AND COUNTRY/ IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1918 JAMES GARDNER/ CHARLES W. EATON/ HARRY M. EATON/ DAVID WHITEHEAD/ WALTER WHITEHEAD/ CHARLES W. WILKINSON/ FRED MUMBY/ CHRISTOPHER HOLT/ GEORGE R. REED/ FREDERICK G. WARD/ EDWARD STEPHENSON/ GEORGE NICHOLS

Notes:The memorial was unveiled in October 1920 by the vicar, Revd Hugh Cokayne Frith.
