Materials Used:Hopton Wood Stone and Ancaster stone.

Description:Hopton wood stone tablet set within a moulded Ancaster stone frame. The frame has a carved paterae and is surmounted by a battlemented cresting above which is a niche with the figure of St George and the dragon in it. The memorial commemorates over forty ex-pupils and staff.

Notes:WMA 20557 Albert Ball, V.C was a pupil in 1906/07 and Joseph Tombs, V.C. was a pupil in the early 1900's. They were both awarded the Victoria Cross. Latin inscription translated as - O ye young men of great goodwill, your example of sacrifice, undeterred even by death itself, is ever before the eyes of our school. / Invictus Pax - May the unconquerable rest in peace. The memorial was unveiled by Colonel A Hutchinson (one of the school's old boys) in December 1921
