Description:A tree planted at the east side of the church from a seed taken from the cemetery at Minturno in Italy. An explanatory piece of writing and two photographs are placed inside the church.

Inscription:A Special Tree/ Grown from a seed cone brought back/ from the war graves cemetery at/ Minturno, Italy, in 1994 by John Pepper/ of Binbrook, Lincolnshire./ Grown from seed by John, and planted/ to the east of St Martins church, in the/ year 2000 AD, this tree is now 1.25/ metres in height. The church Parish/ Council and the residents of Kirmond-/ Le-Mire are proud to have this special/ tree in their churchyard./ The tree will be a tribute and a reminder/ to all of those who gave their livesin the/ great wars, that we may live in peace./ We will remember them.
