Description:Brass tablet on a dark wood board. Text illuminated in red. Black lettering for the majority of the tablet.

Inscription:Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori To the Glory of God and in memory of the men of Alvingham and North Cockerington who fell in action during the Great War 1914 - 1918 SYDNEY ARNOLD WRIGHT joined the 8th Battalion of the Lincolnshire Regiment 26th December 1914 and fell in action near Albert in France 3rd July 1916 aged 19 years SAMUEL HAND joined the 14th Battalion of the Durham Light Infantry May 1916 and fell in action near Lebace in France 18th September 1916 aged 37. GEORGE BLADES joined the First Battalion of the Royal Irish Fusiliers 28th May 1916 and fell in action in France 21st March 1918 aged 23. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends St. John XV. 13
