Description:A memorial plaque set into the ground between Nos 2 and 3 hangars. The Standard presented by the Queen Mother is now in Lincoln Cathedral, a second standard being presented to 617 Squadron in 1988.

Inscription:On this spot Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother presented the standard to No. 617 Squadron when she visited this station on 14th May 1959. The ceremony was performed in brilliant sunshine in the presence of many distinguished members of the wartime squadron, including Commonwealth members.
