Notes:Born Johannesburg, South Africa. Was the pilot of the Gazelle helicopter which crashed in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, while serving with the 5th Regiment, A.A.C. Single, he came from Grantham in Lincolnshire and was a keen sportsman; in particular a distinguished canoeist. He was shortly to depart for Australia to continue his training in preparation for the 2004 Olympics.
