Inscription:IN LOVING MEMORY OF PTE OLFORD SKELTON THE BELOVED SON OF JOHN HENRY AND ALICE JANE SKELTON, WHO DIED FEB. 19, 1915, AGED 19 YEARS. "THY WILL BE DONE."

Notes:Refers to: 13479 Pte Alfred Skelton, 6th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment, died on 14/02/1915, aged 19 years; buried in Brocklesby (All Saints) Churchyard. (1901 census, Little Limber: Alford Skelton, 5, b. Little Limber, living with parents John H. and Alice J. Skelton, four brothers and two sisters. BMD Index, birth: Alfred Skelton, reg. Jun. 1896, Caistor; death: reg. Mar. 1915, Lincoln, aged 19. It is interesting to note that the Christian name on his headstone and the war memorial is Olford, on the census it is Alford, yet he is registered for birth and death and with the CWGC as Alfred Skelton. )
