The first Wesleyan Methodist chapel was built on Station Road in 1821. It was replaced by the present chapel, on a new site in Station Road, in 1847.

The chapel was in the following circuits at the dates indicated:

Grimsby George Street Wesleyan Methodist Circuit 1894-1932
Grimsby George Street Methodist Circuit 1932-1965
Grimsby West Methodist Circuit 1965-1981
