Description:
A WORN LOWER PALAEOLITHIC ACHEULEAN QUARTZITE HAND AXE FOUND ON SPOIL FROM THE REDLANDS AGGREGATES PIT. IT WAS FROM THE BALDERTON SAND AND GRAVEL (IPSWICHIAN INTERGLACIAL), AND IS SIMILAR TO FINDS FROM THE HILTON TERRACE GRAVELS NEAR DERBY. {1}{2}
