Biographical Notes:'The villagers sympathise with Mr. Hodson and his family in their sad loss of the son, Private F. Hodson, of the 6th Lincolns, who was killed last Wednesday week, whilst on active service in France. He was 21 years of age and enlisted at the beginning of the war. Before going to France about five weeks ago, he was in the Dardanelles for 12 months. Killed by a shell.' Lincolnshire Chronicle - Welton - 5th August 1916, pg 3.
