A POTTERY KILN SITE, POSSIBLY OF 16TH CENTURY DATE, INDICATED BY CONCENTRATIONS OF POTTERY AND SOOTY SOIL JUST NORTH OF GREAT BEATS FARM, FOUND BY MRS E H RUDKIN. THE SITE HAS BEEN EXCAVATED AND ONE OF THOSE INVOLVED, MR M HODGESON, SAID PLENTY OF BROKEN POTTERY WAS FOUND BUT THE ACTUAL KILN WAS NOT LOCATED.{1}
