SOUTH STOKE SCHOOL

Records of South Stoke School, Stoke Rochford. The school was built in 1840 as a National School. It was known as North and South Stoke CE School in 1923, and as South Stoke CE School by 1925 and until at least 1948. Senior children were transferred to Springfield Secondary Modern School, Grantham, in September 1960, and the school became a junior and infant school. The school was closed on 17 December 1970, with the children transferred to Great Ponton School.
