Evidence of Tennyson’s active engagement with Blake’s images and words can be found in his copy of Poetical Sketches (1783/1868).
If you set the title page beside that of the Book of Job title page you can see that the doodle echoes Blake’s design.
Taken together these sketches conjure up a vivid picture of Tennyson reading and studying Blake.
