2. Bronze Age gold
These are some of the oldest gold artefacts in Europe.
The torc was discovered in Sudbrook and is a forerunner of the more famous Iron Age neck torcs, but no less beautiful, despite being struck by a plough! The terminals have a pecked decoration within triangles. The bracelet found at Baumber is the largest of its type to be found in Lincolnshire. It is an unfinished piece. This jewellery dates from the later Bronze Age, around 900 BC – 700BC.
