Other surviving parts of medieval Grantham
1 and 2 Church Street are two houses now made into one. Parts of the building are sixteenth century, and in 1967 a small hole was found under the floor in the first floor room and rare mid-sixteenth wall-paintings were discovered.
The Blue Pig Inn was built probably in the sixteenth century as a shop and an inn, and is a timber-framed building, with a projecting first floor.
It’s not only buildings that survive from medieval Grantham. The street layout which Grantham has today is largely the same as the medieval layout.
