Village Uncovered – Marton KS2
A history, drama and art project
This resource was created in collaboration with arts and heritage officers at West Lindsey District Council Lincolnshire County Council and is intended to help teachers explore local and national history with the help of drama and art.

Lincs to the Past is a website where not only HER records can be searched, but also those of the Lincolnshire Archives, Museums and Library non-fiction catalogue are available. There are also further learning packages available.
Drama and art can be used in very interesting and innovative ways to interpret any aspect of heritage very effectively, particularly in schools. These media allow the children to learn about heritage through the research they carry out towards the final products, and through role play they may feel empathy with people from the past. They will also learn how to communicate this to an audience in engaging ways. This package will focus on Romans in Marton, and for pupils at Key Stage 2, but the principles could be applied far more widely.
